As you know, I’ll be running Laser Tag games under the ALTC banner for Auburn’s 4th of July Festival again this year. I’ll have a new location, and expect considerably more kids playing this year than last year. Apparently that’s not enough for me. Apparently I want to put myself through that more than once in a year period. To that end, I have volunteered to offer the same service to the neighboring town of Pacific for their Pacific Days festival. To make sure I don’t get enough rest and relaxation after the Auburn event, Pacific Days is the following week, and is a three day event, rather than just one. Fortunately, I was not required to provide my services all three days or none. They’ll take anything they can get, and so they are getting the ALTC for 6 hours on Saturday, their busiest day of the three. They also said I can “close up shop” for a bit if we want to take a break, or shut down early if participation peters out, or stay later if there’s still interest and we still have energy. 😉
Unfortunately, both the Auburn and Pacific events are in July, and I’ve got a couple months worth of games already scheduled prior to that. Since I don’t want a bunch of poorly attended games in May and June, I’m also exploring other means of advertising the club to increase membership. Everything from flyers on community notice boards in businesses around town to story idea suggestions for Evening Magazine and KING5 news. I want to have so many kids coming to games that we’ll have to make them take turns, or run concurrent games, and maybe even manage to find someone else who wants to run a sister club in a nearby town. That would be awesome! 🙂
