SeaPUG Meeting, November 19, 2000
This was our fifth meeting. 15 people attended this month. We had new members join us, as well as a few regulars. We're looking at ways to increase meeting attendance, including a different day to meet, and/or more presentations. Stay tuned to the mailing list and web site for information regarding any changes we make.
This month we had an interesting presentation by the Microsft Mobile Devices Division. They showed us a ton of neat gadgets running the PocketPC operating system. Just check out the photo of the table full of gadgets above. Not only did they have the actual PocketPC computers, but they had wireless accessories (sleds, clip-ons, CF cards, PCMCIA cards), the folding keyboard, cables to connect to cell-phones, and even solar and "air" powered travel chargers! Cool!
Beth Goza and Derek Brown showed us all some of the cooler stuff the PPC can do, including advanced PIM features, multimedia, games, and wireless connectivity. Beth didn't buy a toy from Amazon this time, but she did check her e-mail to find a new message from her mother. hehe. ;-)
After the PPC presentation was out of the way, we had some stuff to give out!
With all the stuff on the agenda taken care of, it was time to mingle and meet. There were plenty of new faces to greet, and we spent a lot of time doing it. Personally, this is my favorite part of the meetings. :)
