- Introduction to product:
- Jungleport is a freeware map and city guide which covers the entire U.S. Once your target city has been selected on the website, you have the option of downloading a selected yellow pages and dining guide with your map.
- Installation:
- The installation includes the Jungleport conduit which must be installed in order to download new maps and information from the Jungleport website.
- Features (as listed by manufacturer):
- Search for addresses, markers (placed by user), points of interest or restaurants. Jungleport will show a listing of the nearest restaurants (of whichever cuisine you search for), tell you how far they are from your current location, and bring them up on the map for easy viewing. Maps are beamable to other users as well.
- Comments on Features:
- Jungleport is one of the best city guide apps that I have seen. It's not a GPS, but for a freeware app I'm VERY impressed. The maps are very fast. I own Handmap and it doesn't even come close. The user interface is very good, and the selected yellow pages are a big help.
- Use (ease of / problems with):
- Jungleport is very easy to use, although it may take a few sessions to get used to how the map and dining guide work together. I have had no problems with this software, and think that it is indispensable for the traveling Palm user--find business and restaurant listings before you even get to your destination.
- Likes:
- Jungleport's speed definitely adds a lot to this application. There is not much wasted time waiting for maps to load or searches to complete.
- Dislikes:
- It just takes a little work to figure out what all Jungleport is capable of, however the help menus are very well written.
- Who should buy:
- Everyone--it's free!
- Cost:
- *FREE*
Rating: 5 needles (out of five).
