From Krussel: "Horizontic Plus combines fashionable design with added features like the four pockets for SIM- and memory cards. Unique and Trendy are the two key words for this product. The user of today often have extra memory cards for his phone, to store MP3-files etc. Many users also have several SIM-cards in their belongings. Where do they store these cards today? No more lost cards is one of the promises that Horizontic Plus offers you, beside the obvious fact that you always feel well dressed with Horizontic Plus on your hip."
This would be my favorite Treo case EVER if not for one minor, yet fatal flaw for me. I'll get to that later, though, as it's 100% personal preference, and others might not think so much of it.
Truth be told, I love EVERYTHING else about this case. The quality is phenomenal. The leather is of good quality and the stitching is even with no fraying. The case is fully lined with what seems to be a pretty sturdy woven nylon. The idea of including card slots in a PDA case is nothing new, but since this is a holster more than a full-time protective case, their choice of putting the card slots on the front of the case which is then covered and protected by the cover flap is pure genious. One slot would have sufficed, but two is icing on the cake. For the world traveler, there are also two SIM card slots for changing carrier SIM cards when you are in a new location. I have no need for that, but I can imagine how convenient it would be to have quick access to SIM cards like that. The slots are also nice and tight and unlikely to allow the cards to slip out, with the added protection of being held in by the cover flap of the case itself. The cover itself is held shut by a strong magnetic catch with a button to keep it from slipping, and is secure as any snap would be. I also really like the black and gray combination of materials and the shape of the design.
If all that weren't enough, Krusell tops it off with not only a double-looped, snap-fastened system to hang it on your belt, but also their patented Multidapt system, allowing you to select from a WIDE variety of clips and buttons to attach the case to belts, straps, and other things.
But why is it that I'm not using this case when I love it so much? Unfortunately it's very simple. The Treo can only be in the case with the screen facing outward. You see, this case is not specifically designed for the Treo. It's a universal case that is suitable for a variety of phones and devices of this general size and shape. Because of this, the ends of the case are such that only ONE end has room for the antenna of the Treo. The choice of which end would allow the antenna to be there is the one that forces the Treo to face outward. I don't dislike this because of protection reasons. In fact, this case is more substantial than the case I'm currently using, and I feel that my Treo would be better protected by it than my current case. The problem is simple usage. With my current case, when I remove the Treo, it's ready to use. With the Krusell case, I would always be having to turn it over in my hand. This is either a two handed process, or a long and careful one handed process to avoid dropping the now unprotected Treo. I would then have to reverse the process for putting the Treo back into the case. This might sound trivial, and there may even be those that prefer the device to be facing away from the body for how they wear the case and remove the device from it. But for me, it adds enough inconvenience in usage that I cannot use this case for my Treo 650. However, this case would be ideal for other phones or devices, as pictured on the Krusell site.
